Window fell inside the door Inspection Service
Whether you have manual or power windows, the actual mechanism that controls how the panes move up and down is essentially the same. A control arm attaches to either the power window motor or manual crank handle, and a regulator translates circular movement (either electric or manual) into the vertical up-and-down path of the window.

In vehicles with electric windows, there is also the possibility that there is something amiss with the power window system that can appear like a fallen window when it is simply stuck in the down position.

Common reasons for this to happen:
Window is dislodged from the regulator: Over time, the rivets that attach your windowpane to the regulator can wear and break, causing the window to fall inside your door.

Broken control arm: Just as rivets or the regulator can wear down and break over time, the control arm can break as well. A mechanic will remove the door panel to identify any broken system components.

Power window regulator needs replacement: In a vehicle with power windows, it’s possible the regulator itself has broken. If this is the cause of your window being stuck in the down position and the window appears to have fallen inside the door, you will be able to hear the window motor running when you press the switch. Since the regulator is responsible for creating the vertical movement of your window, the glass cannot ascend until the regulator is fixed.

Window motor shorted out: If you cannot hear any noise when you press the power window switch for the problem window, there could be an issue with the motor that controls your window system. In this case, your window has not fallen, but instead is trapped in the down position.

What to expect:
A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the cause of the fallen window. After verifying that the motor, regulator, and track guides are in good working order, the mechanic will check the power supply to the window, along with all the wiring, relays, and fuses.

After the inspection, the mechanic will provide a detailed report that describes the extent of the window issue, along with the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.

How important is this service?
Although you may be tempted to put off repairing your fallen window since it does not directly affect your vehicle’s drivability, you should not leave the problem unattended. Inclement weather could damage your interior, and an open window invites the theft of not just the contents of your car, but of the vehicle itself.
