You were charged $185 for a full diagnostic service — not a repair. Our technician properly identified Cylinder 1 misfire (Code P0301) and recommended that you replace all four spark plugs and the faulty ignition coil to avoid future issues.
You were also advised clearly that the vehicle was misfiring and should not be driven far. We even gave you a discounted follow-up quote for mobile installation. You declined to move forward, and that was your choice.

Your 2014 Toyota Corolla was professionally diagnosed on-site in front of you. The diagnostic clearly revealed a P0301 misfire code. We explained thoroughly that the issue was with the ignition coil and spark plugs, and we recommended replacing all four spark plugs — not just one — as a preventive measure.
The ignition coil was swapped between cylinders as part of a standard industry diagnostic practice to confirm the faulty coil. This is a common method used by mechanics to isolate the issue. It is not a scam — it’s how responsible diagnostics are done.
As for the pricing issue you mentioned: the dispute was entirely over a $15 fee. You were told in advance that there is a $10 per $100 fee for CashApp or similar platforms — a policy clearly explained up front. You refused to send the proper total and then chose to cancel the repair.
